The short answer
The Lakshadweep Administration identifies October to March as the ideal time to visit. Use this as the starting point for planning a beach holiday, then verify whether your chosen accommodation, route and activities are operating.
A season label cannot guarantee calm water or visibility. Keep the exact transfer and activity advice from your operator ahead of a generic month-by-month promise.
October to March: the main planning window
For a first enquiry, start here. Share a range of dates rather than just one departure if you can. Once the island and accommodation are available, check that the arrival and return services fit the same dates.
If you are travelling for an anniversary or school break, decide what can flex: the island, the room category, or the travel date. That makes the next conversation more productive.
April and May: ask about heat and the route
The Administration describes April and May as particularly hot. Discuss room facilities, the amount of outdoor activity and your group’s preferred pace. An early beach outing and a slower afternoon may suit you better than a full activity schedule.
Check the end of the operating season for every sea transfer. Do not assume that one island’s available room confirms the whole journey.
Monsoon planning
Monsoon conditions can affect boat connections, ship tourism and water activities. An available flight is not evidence that an onward sea journey will operate. Ask for the actual services, cancellation rules and alternative arrangements for your proposed dates.
A useful booking checklist
- Which island and room are available for the full stay?
- Are both outward and return transfers confirmed?
- What happens if weather changes the itinerary?
- Which activities are seasonal or condition-dependent?
- How much flexibility is needed for mainland connections?
