Begin with the complete route
The Administration describes Kochi as the mainland gateway and Agatti as the island airport. A flight to Agatti and a holiday on another island are separate parts of a journey. Plan the return at the same time as the arrival.
Travelling by air
Check current airline schedules and availability for Agatti. Do not rely on airline names or timetables in older destination articles. The route, connection time, baggage rules and any onward boat transfer all need to work for the same date.
For Kadmat, official guidance describes boat links from Agatti during the fair season. Ask for a confirmed transfer rather than assuming a boat leaves after every flight.
Travelling by sea
Ship-based travel is another option described by the Administration. A cruise-style tourism itinerary and a passenger ferry ticket are not the same product: compare the cabin, island stops, shore time, meals and nights spent aboard.
Look up the current service through the official Lakshadweep Port portal or a confirmed tourism programme. We do not publish a timetable here because departures can change.
Choosing an island changes the journey
Agatti, Thinnakara, Bangaram, Minicoy, Kalpeni and Kadmat should not be treated as interchangeable stops. Geographic proximity does not prove that a tourist connection exists. Establish the route to your preferred island before purchasing a separate flight.
From Mumbai
Coordinate Mumbai travel with the confirmed island itinerary. A connection through Kochi is a planning option; ask the airline about current direct or connecting services rather than assuming either is guaranteed. Allow time appropriate to the booking and any operator-recommended buffer.
